Password-protected published reports

With publish to web function reports may be publish to web, so you can share these public links with anyone, and viewers don't need a SeekTable account to access the reports.

It is well known that if a report contains confidential data, it should NOT be published to the web. Nevertheless, in some cases reports with restricted access should be shared to many users without creating a separate user accounts for all of them. This is possible with password-protected public links.

Password-protected public links require activated "Advanced publishing" capability.

How to set a password for report's public link

  1. Go to "Report Links for Sharing/Embedding" dialog: Share → Get Link
  2. Click Configure for the link you want to protect with a password
  3. In Advanced publishing section choose Security tab
  4. Select Link access control = Password protected:

  5. Click the Apply button to activate password-protection for the public link. Now only users who know the password are able to access this published report via public link:
